Worshipping Together

Ways to Worship

We worship on Sundays in English at 11:00am.

The African Fellowship at Amity worships on Sundays in Swahili at 2:00pm.

Join us in the sanctuary or virtually. We livestream each 11:00 service to our Facebook page, but you can also watch the recording later on our Facebook or YouTube pages and right here on our website. Let us know you worshipped virtually with us by leaving a comment!

What to Expect

We are a “come as you are” congregation. Some folks prefer jeans and t-shirts while others stick with their Sunday best. You’ll see both on any given Sunday, and we love that. When you arrive, a church member will greet you and offer you a worship bulletin. Sit anywhere you like because there are no assigned seats in the Lord’s house.

Our worship service has its foundation in traditional Presbyterian-style liturgy, but no Sunday is ever exactly the same. We value creativity and expect God to speak in new and surprising ways. Together, we are learning to sing songs of our faith from a variety of styles. Amity’s roots are traditional (you’ll sing some beloved hymns) but some of our favorite songs to sing are modern expressions of praise. We believe the Holy Spirit is still inspiring people to create, still shaping the church, and still calling us to grow and change as disciples of Jesus. Our worship should reflect that freedom and adventure!

Children In Worship

Children belong in worship. Full stop. At Amity, we celebrate the presence of children of all ages in worship, along with their noise and wiggles, and want you to make yourselves comfortable. Walk with your baby, sit close to the front so little eyes can see, or find a spot to stretch out. We’ve created a child-focused worship space called the Prayground at the back of the sanctuary where you will find worship stations, art supplies, big and small rocking chairs, books, and comfy cushions. After the Children’s Message, kids are welcome to worship in the Prayground with their grown-up.
